Services
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy technique developed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. The therapy involves the patient recalling distressing memories while engaging in bilateral stimulation, typically through guided eye movements. EMDR aims to reduce the emotional charge associated with these memories, facilitating adaptive processing and resolution. The therapy often consists of eight phases, including history taking, preparation, assessment, desensitization, installation, body scan, closure, and reevaluation. EMDR has been endorsed by various mental health organizations for treating conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, and depression.
Perinatal Mental Health
Perinatal therapy refers to a range of interventions and treatments aimed at improving the health and well-being of both the mother and the fetus during the perinatal period, which encompasses the time from pregnancy up to a month after birth. APerinatal mental health services focus on the psychological well-being of individuals during the perinatal period, which encompasses pregnancy and the first year following childbirth. These services address a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, and PTSD, that can arise during this time.
Trauma Therapy
Trauma therapy is a specialized form of psychotherapy designed to help individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. It incorporates various therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and somatic therapies. The goals of trauma therapy are to alleviate emotional distress, reduce symptoms related to trauma (such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD), and empower individuals to regain a sense of safety and control over their lives. Techniques may include developing coping strategies, reprocessing traumatic memories, and building resilience. Trauma therapy emphasizes creating a safe therapeutic environment and fostering a trusting relationship between the therapist and client to facilitate healing.
